Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
What you are paying for
Keyhold is free to use. Paid plans — Keyhold Plus and Keyhold Premium — raise usage limits for people running more than a few locks at once. Plans are billed in advance, either monthly or annually, in US dollars, through our payment processor Stripe. Prices are listed on our Pricing page.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before any price change affecting your subscription.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time from the Keyhold Plus page in your account (keyhold.app/plus). No explanation is required, and cancelling does not delete your account or your lock history.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep access to paid features until that date, and you are not charged again afterwards.
If you cannot reach the billing settings for any reason, email [email protected] and we will cancel it for you. A cancellation request sent by email is effective from the date we receive it.
Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, because access to paid features is provided immediately and for the full period you paid for. That said, we would rather resolve a problem than argue about one. We issue refunds in the following cases:
- Duplicate or repeated charges for the same billing period — refunded in full.
- Charges after a valid cancellation — refunded in full.
- Unauthorised charges you did not make and did not authorise — refunded in full once verified.
- Sustained service failure that prevented you from using the paid features you were charged for — refunded in full or pro rata, depending on the period affected.
- Accidental renewal reported within 7 days of the charge, where the paid features were not meaningfully used in that period — refunded at our discretion.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing usually takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
How to request a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the approximate date and amount of the charge and a short description of the problem. We acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 5.
If we decline a refund, we will tell you why. You can reply and ask us to look again; a different person will review it.
Before you file a chargeback
Please contact us first. Nearly every dispute we see — an unrecognised statement descriptor, a renewal someone forgot about, a duplicate charge — is something we can resolve directly and faster than a bank dispute, which typically takes weeks.
Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law that applies to you. Where local law gives you a stronger right — such as a statutory withdrawal period — that right applies regardless of what this policy says.
